Drilling Rate Calculation Detail

The capacity of a drill rig is determined by the net penetration rate achievable and the time consumed in handling and moving the unit. Therefore, net penetration is only one part of the total drilling performance. If the rig performance is to be increased the total drilling cycle time has to be cut down. (Figure 44a-44b-44c)

Steps: Click the Fig43 button on the “Machinery/Drilling” main input form (Figure 46)

The “Detailed list of drilling machinery” form will be activated (Figure 44a).

By clicking the Sec7414(Figure 44b) button on the top right edge the small calculator form below (Figure 44c) will be activated for the drilling rate calculations.

The selected drilling machine is shown on the first row.

Type the “Number of rod” in the first text box.

Then fill out all the other text boxes with your own Drilling time values.

After clicking on the Machin11button at the bottom left corner, the total cycle times, drilling times and non-drilling times are calculated and shown at the bottom.

When you click the OK button the form closes and the calculated percent of the Drilling time will be written automatically at the row where your drilling machine is listed on the “Detailed list of drilling machinery” form.
